Dominican Republic

If someone would've said that one day I'd be travelling to the Dominican Republic to play Slo-Pitch, I'd say they were crazy! And crazy I must be because that's exactly what I'm doing. Aaahem...I mean me and my team that is.

It all simply began by picking up a brochure during a Slo-Pitch tournament in Revelstoke, B.C. The brochure was glossed with pictures of people looking like they were having the time of their lives; playing ball, drinking...lots, mingling with the locals and laying on the palm-shaded beaches. It said our team could choose between three countries; Mexico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. I thought to myself "How much FUN would that be!?!", grabed three or four copies and brought the brochures back to my teammates. It got passed around our campsite more than once and we started getting excited when someone said "Okay, lets do it! We can totally do this!". And so the seed had been officially planted!

So here we are three weeks until our departure and I'm still in disbelief that we are even going! Crazy! I'm so excited for the experience and to play ball in the Dominican Republic. The months and months of planning and coordinating (with sweat and tears) is going to be worth everything!
